Who remembers seeing the F40 before it was the F40? The Ferrari 288 GTO existed so they could go Group B rallying, and needed to build 200 GTO’s, and 20 evolutions. Ferrari want to just Group B rally with the Evo directly, so they made 272 GTOs. The 288 GTO never competed in the end, Ferrari wanted to only race on the tarmac events, prevented due to a fatal accident. Only 6 Evo’s were made in the end, 1 road car and 5 were used to prototype the F40. #FERRARI #288GTO #F40 #carporn
